Dolphins! Redondo Beach looking north to Malibu in the distance. Gorgeous morning. 30 mile ride.
Sunday Funday - Malibu Triathlon Relay Recap. I had a blast! Originally I was supposed to do the swim and bike but given my recent Achilles injury I had to give up the swim and just do the bike. Our fill in swimmer was clutch. My ride was solid and Kelly had a great run. A good time was had by all! I cannot wait to get back out there again.
Pre race meeting. Malibu Triathlon 2013.
I have been in a funk since my injury and DNF at the Santa Rosa marathon two weeks ago. I have not let the injury completely derail me but I have been taking it easy with the hope of my calf/Achilles healing quickly. I ran/walked 3.75 miles this week plus 2 spin classes, TRX session with my trainer, and 2 hour ride down the coast this morning. Tomorrow I am the bike rider on a relay team in the Malibu Triathlon. I plan to ease back into running on Monday.
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!!!!
Long ride Sunday. 37.34 miles to Rancho Palos Verdes and back. I love the RPV Starbucks with the ocean views. The coffee at the turnaround was much needed. I was so so tired. It was great to see my riding partner E!
I woke up bright and early for spin class this morning. It was fantastic! I am doing my best to make 4 classes happen this week. 1 down, 3 to go.
4.75 mi along the beach tonight. My legs are acclimating to the higher weekly mileage.
I still need to chose my next race…
I signed up to ride the metric century in Ojai on June 1. I have spent a lot of time on the bike recently and feel like this is a step forward in triathlon training. Good times ahead!!!! A 70.3 in September is calling my name.
50 miles complete. Bike selfie and pic of my neighborhood at the end of the ride. Today’s journey was about overcoming fear I did not even know I had. I was so scared on a steep decent (two lane road, cliff face on one side of me, cars on the other) that my legs shook uncontrollably. Thankfully I slowed down and safely wove my way down the mountain. I will call that a win!
The first time I have run over 13.1 since the Napa marathon in March. Felt pretty good! Thanks to Abby and Rae for the company.
Double spin with Reilly followed by 4 miles of heat training in Griffith Park with my friend Abby. The sun was oppressive on the trails and I cursed myself for putting my body through this today. I still have no idea what I am training for but certainly a 70.3 or marathon. We will see what happens.
