Tumblr In Real Life
This afternoon I found myself standing at the counter of Triathlon Lab Santa Monica. The woman behind the counter looked so familiar and after a few minutes I realized that it had to be Tricraftbeer. I could not leave the shop without asking if it was indeed her. I asked her if she had a blog, she said that yes, it was her, and that she follows my blog too. It is such a small world! If you do...

All it takes is one good brick workout..
All it takes is one good workout to turn things around. I had a horrible run on Saturday. What was supposed to be 7-10 miles turned into 4 miles. This morning everything felt great. I met the woman who introduced me to the world of trail running, C, at the trails for 5 miles. C is coming back to running after a two year hiatus. The backstory of me and C: we met and ran together for six months...

Vineman 70.3 Countdown- 7 weeks!??!!!
Last week training took a backseat to the wedding and family events in Maui. Thankfully, I have no plans to travel between now and the race. Each weekend will be spent swimming, running, and building my mileage on the bike.
Since January, I have been swimming with UCLA Masters. This week, I am joining the local triathlon swim team, Tower 26. I swam with Coach Gerry years ago at UCLA Masters,...

8 weeks to 70.3 !!???!!!
The last 6 weeks have been a blur of work and travel (including Hawaii, Ragnar, and a marathon!). Now, I have 8 weeks until my first half Ironman, Vineman 70.3. I am starting to feel nervous! Perhaps it is because I have not put the time in on the bike that I feel I should have??? I want to put myself through the paces of the race before the day actually arrives. It is time to set a plan and...

Morning Glory!
Today is another glorious morning in Los Angeles. I awoke before dawn to meet my pal L up on the trails. We ran above the cloud cover amid the sun rise and the moon set. I had a hard time making it up the mountain. I found myself gasping for breath which is unusual. I slowed down and decided to take it all in. I saw numerous birds along the path, guiding my way up the mountain. I could not...

Lululemon Swim Line Review- Say It Ain't So!
It is no secret that I am a lululemon addict. I converted from Nike to lululemon several years ago and have not looked back (I still wear Nike tempo shorts and racerback tops from time to time). Several months ago I was excited to hear that lulu would release a swim/surf line. I bought a pair lulu board shorts last summer and I LOVE THEM! I wear them in and out of the water and they are great....
Running Has Taught Me...

The work won’t do itself. Gotta get out there and get your hands a bit messy.

Transitions
The Big Sur Marathon marked the end of full marathon training* and the true beginning of triathlon training season. I have neglected the pool for the past several weeks and it is time to get back at it. I also need to hit the open road on the bike. My friend, who is also training for his first 70.3, plans to lay down a century ride during his training. My plan is to train up to at least one 50...

Big Sur Marathon 2012 Recap
There are some races you run for time. Big Sur is not one of them. I came to the start line of Big Sur with camera in hand. My goal was to savor every moment. I accomplished that and ran every mile with a smile on my face. I ran up every mountain/hill. I never hit the wall. It was fantastic!
The challenge of Big Sur began with the early wake up call. I was assured by one of the race...
